LATEST NEWS!
1.   NEWS FLASH 11TH JANUARY 2021
Hi Everyone
After the most unusual Christmas holiday ever I hope you are all well and keeping up with your art during this lockdown. Hopefully it will not be too long before we can get together again,
Rosemary Harvey sends her best wishes to you all. We will be arranging more activities to keep you going in the meantime and we hope to start getting the talks going again as soon as we get the go ahead to say it is safe to do so.
Nature in Art is now on you tube and has asked me to advertise the videos of different artists they are showing, Please take a look and tell friends and family about it too as it will be inspirational and helps the museum spread the word of its work. Access is through their website
www.natureinart.org.uk, and their link to tube is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPwP9u0IMAPC3g0u1Y_3Udw/videos

For us they advertise the society and are currently helping me with some technical tips to keep in contact with you that I will be sharing with you soon, I hope. Also check out the website for activities they are running for all age groups which Catherine, the education officer, has devised for people to do at home.
On another note I am just reminding you that your membership will be due on March 1st and that the current membership fee is reduced for this year to £10 for existing members as we have not been able to give our usual services but still have certain costs to meet to keep things going.
Thanks for your support in the last difficult year and look out for more information as time goes on.
Cheers and keep well
Rosemary Gowland and all the committee of GSA

3. NEWS from NATURE IN ART.
Good Morning Dabblers,
We are nearly at the end of another lockdown. I hope it has been ok for you and you have had fun creating things.
I have been busy prepping things for Christmas plus tidying things up in the garden. With a bit of luck the second half of the orchard will be planted. We will have, in total, 12 apples trees and 1 peri pear tree. All native to here. We look forward to reaping the benefits next year. :)
The museum will be open from Friday 4th December and we look forward to welcoming you all back. We have the British Wildlife Photography exhibition - best of the last 10 years. The photos are always stunning and it is lovely to see what the UK is home to. The shop has stocked up on their Christmas goodies and Linda always chooses beautiful things for you to treat yourself or others with.  The museum, shop and coffee shop will be open Fridays - Sundays. Please remember you must book online through our website.
The Education Centre will also be open and we will be selling homemade gifts - a selection of cards, a range of Christmas decorations - made using different materials- , succulents, crochet scarfs and hats, ornaments made with natural materials among other things. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated things for us to sell. We really appreciate it!
You do not need to book to come to the Education Centre so feel free to pop by and see what treasures you can find. The centre will be open Friday-Monday. If you have any questions please email me education@natureinart.org.uk
I have included a couple of pictures of some of the things on offer.
Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to seeing you through December.
Catherine
Museum and coffee shop open: Thursday – Saturday 10am – 4pm

GSA 2020 PAINTING DAYS -  REVIEWS
Picture
GSA Painting Day  at Mallards Pike on Monday 19th October.
Well done those who turned up and found their way there despite road closures!
Again the weather was kind and the day most enjoyable. What a beautiful spot and the Autumn colours were amazing.

GSA Painting Day  at Saul Junction on Monday the 5th October
Four stalwarts came to Saul Junction after a dreadful weekend of rain beforehand.  Luckily the rain held off all morning and the sun shone for a while.  Lovely to chat, catch up and work close to each other (only 2 metres close of course!)
A good venue with parking and toilets and some good sketching done before the rain finally arrived just in time for lunch!  Please send me some of your finished work.

GSA Painting Day  at in the 'Nature in Art' gardens on Monday 21st September.
Unfortunately only 4 people replied to my last email about painting days and 3 of us went to Nature in Art  and had a lovely exclusive time in the Garden which volunteers are gradually improving. If anyone would like to spend time there again please contact me and I will arrange it.

Our first visit  was to Prinknash Abbey Gardens on Monday 31st August and proved most enjoyable.  The weather stayed fine, the choice of subject was excellent and the Cafe much appreciated.
Here below are some pictures of a lovely day with pictures and work by
Sue Trickey and  Jenny Smith.
